Atkins Diet = Stupid

I am so tired of all the commercials and menu changes to facilitate this bullshit diet.
Now Bacardi is advertising Zero Carbs Zero Sugar in a Rum and Diet Coke.
Coke has a new Zero Carb Soda
The local Irish eating and drinking joint has a special atkins friendly menu.
Anyone considering this bullshit diet heres some advise.
EXERCISE!
Exercise and eating smart (not carb free) will loose weight. Combining weight training and cardio and you'll loose weight.
I hate atkins.

It's easy to hate it, but it's hard to argue against it. I did it for 6 months and lost 44 lbs and have kept it off for quite a while. Unfortunately, every company is trying to score a piece of the pie and trying to market 'Atkins friendly' foods. The good thing Atkins has going for it is most low carb foods are low calorie which helps. There's no doubt the diet works though.

I prefer just eating sensibly and exercising. I have never needed to loose more than 12 lbs at any 1 time though so I really dont need something drastic. I keep an eye on my weight and get concerned when clothes get tight. Then its time to loose a few pounds again. I am just about ready to trim off a few lbs. I gained some weight during vacation that I need to drop off.

I hate excercise and self-discipline so.... I am a FAT ****!
Perhaps "Atkins = Stupid" is not the greatest title for a thread on a rotary forum?

High protein + Low carb + work out = in shape. Lazy + Atkins or pills or Hollywood diet drink or whatever = Flabby nasty yuckiness. People are lazy and no matter what diet you are on if you dont work out you will still look like crap. not to mention health risks. If you are out of control obese Atkins is great because it does work. (aside for the possible health complications) but if you are average overweight or more appropriatly put, out of shape. then work out and you will be fine. I was weighing 220 5'11". I worked out and im now 185.

High protein + low carb is extremely hard on your kidney's, few people drink enough water to allow their kidney's to properly filter the excess protein, which end result is kidney damage there's already been several predictions on increased kidney failure in the US and Atkins isn't helping it. I have not been dieting, but exercising 5 days a week recently, I was on extremely high doses of prednisone which completely ***** your system over, I gained over 40 lbs on that **** in less then 2 months and quite honestly I regret having let my Doctor do it to me.
High protein diet and high blood pressure are two things that will have you on the transplant list sooner then later. Assuming your heart doesn't take a **** from trying to pump the increased fat load from the fatty food that MOST people eat on Atkins.
A little better advise, if you go to a dr and he tells you to go on Atkins, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. Go to a Nephrologist and have them talk to you about the diet.
