Thumbs up

Ok, I've seen people use larger than stock oil filters for more cleaning capacity such as the older rx3 filters, on 2nd gen tII's that have switched to fmic. And 12a filters which are fatter than the stock 2nd gen filters.

Have any of you expereimented with different sized filters from other cars???

Has anyone found one that will work that is larger than the rx3 filter? I like the Idea of the larger capacity due to the fact that you can get a filter that will catch much smaller particles and not have to worry about it clogging, or bypassing if you don't drain your oil as often as you should.

Those are the two that I know of

1: any model rx3 is fatter and much taller, but could be a space issue on tII's

2: 80's 12a's are fatter and just a touch taller, (which will be what I'm using, since I still have tmic)

I am using a 2nd gen filter on my 3rd gen engine. Its noticably bigger.

I cannot fit a RX-3 filter on it is even bigger but it interferes with my intake. (I think, I have to go look now) I know in inteferes with something.

You 3rd gen guys should at least use 2nd gen filters.

I didn't look into this, as I have a shitload of filters already. But I heard that a Mazda V6 (626) filter is bigger and fits. maybe it's true
