400 Hp - How Much $$$ ?
#1
Hi! I'm new and this is my first post greets from Poland
I intend to buy a rx7 FD and to spend some cash modifying it. My question is: how much cash do I have to spent and what parts should I buy to reach 400 horse power?
Sorry for being lame but as far as I know there are about 5 such cars in Poland so it's quite hard 4 me to get all the information I need from Poles.
I thought you have experience in rx7 mods so i'm asking you
which internet store do you recommend?
Thnx in advance!

666...who could it be...hmmm....satan?!
Hey 666 boy here's what you do:
Read.
Read.
And Read.
The 13b Forced induced rotary engine on stock twins CAN see 400hp (360rwhp) when you Raise the boost. To raise the boost that high, however...safely...you should have much more coolant (FMIC) and more fuel (Plugs, injectors) and make the air flow less restrictive (Intake/MP/DP/Catback Exhaust)....all managed by an ECU. [Porting the engine helps too].
Rotaries need the fuel/air mixture to run rich at all times, so during all of this, you should have the proper gauges to read what is going on inside your engine.
Internet store? Depends on the parts,...worry about getting the car first...and read read read!

LOL I forgot you asked how much, not how.
Err..hmm...it's not a lot but not a little...how's that? ($2-4k?) Depends what you buy (Used?) and who puts it on (Yourself?).
It doesn't compare to Single Turbo'ing but it is quite a chunk.

If you need reliability,
I would really look at a smaller single turbo on a good strong engine. It will be 100X more dependable and bullet proof then any high HP stock twin setup.
Check out T04-E turbo kits. They will put out your wanted HP goals.
You will need some engine management, That is all preference. I doubt there is much support for car tunning in poland. I run the PowerFC made by A'PEXi. It is very easy, and i'm sure you could find some maps that would work well for you.
For your HP goals, some bigger secondary injectors will work fine, and an upgraded fuel pump.
The big thing will be tunning the car correctly. Tunning makes all the difference, and that part might be up to yourself
This will end up costing you more then sticking with the stock turbos. But, it all depends on what you want, and how much you want to spend to get it.
