******* Passport Bullshit

So anyhow, to renew your passport you can no longer go into the local post office and do it face to face, they wouldn't let me. you have to mail your old passport in with application, then they send you REGULAR MAIL your new one and supposedly a couple days later your old one will show up in another regular mail envelope.... well it didn't. So i lost all my stamps, which ******* blows. I guess i should be glad that i got the new one. What a crappy system as usual.

OK so I call them, for whatever reason they sent the old one yesterday, so i should have it any day now.... uhh ok. My dad renewed his, both showed up on the same day. They mailed the new one on 11/19 the old on 11/27, that makes no sense what so ever.

The system is FUBAR in a bad way. Went to Italy with my parents this summer and they both had to renew. My dad got his within about a month. My mom almost missed the trip and had to write congressmen, sit on hold on the phone for 3-4 hours a day etc. They both started the process about 4-5mnths before the trip.

Frankly, I'm shocked to hear this. I've never known a government agency to operate in anything but a swiftly efficient and professional manner. Let's use the income tax code as an example. How could the system be any more straightforward or fairer than it already is? DMV is another fine example--the very picture of sensible procedures and efficiency. Every time I leave DMV, I have a smile on my face. And we don't even need to discuss the US Postal Service. Their stellar track record pretty much speaks for itself. It gives me a warm feeling to know that the quality employees that provide this excellent and courteous service are paid very nice salaries by my very own tax dollars.
And after we elect Hillary to the White House, we can rest easy knowing that the entire US healthcare and transportation systems will fall under government control, assuring each and every American citizen the exemplary service we so richly deserve.

Is she related to Bill Clinton? I haven't heard much in the news about her, they only seem to cover the canidates that raise more then 50 million.

What pisses me off is I'm a Federal Government employee (GS-XX) and I'm in the ******* Army Reserve and STILL need a goddamn passport. Um, explanation? I have more background investigatory nonsense performed on me for my clearance than any passport could ever equal. Guess it's just ANOTHER way to get money from me.
Bitch *** **********ers.

The issue is, 10 years ago when I last got my passport, maybe 90% of the population had passports, then they pass a law that to visit even canada you have to have a passport. Overnight they doubled the number (if not more) of people needing a passport. You can't take a fucked up process and add to it, it just gets more fucked up.
A friend of mine had his lost in the mail, for the next 5 years he can only have a 1 year passport..... now that's a ****
