Thumbs up

For one reason or another I registered Nopistons.net, now I know the usual thing would be to point the nopistons.net to our current site, however I have other plans on the drawing board. As I am currently heavy into getting the providesite.com venture launched it will be some time before I get to the "Nopistons.net Project" or as we will refer to it the "NP Project".

The NP Project will of course be open to and built on members feedback, some of the things I would like to see since it will be hosted on my little Linux box is a hell of a lot of disk space, with this we can have a video, picture upload, via php script, etc, etc.. Your ideas are welcome and needed for the NP Project. So post your ideas and feedback here, I think it would be nice to have the pic/video upload, top 5 videos, video of the day, top 10 pictures the sky is the limit basically. I may eventually even have nopistons.net/username subdomains, but that will depend on how bad we bog the DSL connection and my crappy little linux box.

This will also be where we test the new php forum software as we get closer to the launch of the new and improved nopistons.com forum (much, much faster). So lemme know if you are interested in helping in some way and want to join the "NP Project" or have an idea of what you would like to see on the new sister site. We need people who are good at designing grahics, xml, whatever you want to do to help out, if don't have any of those skills, then give the NP Project Team an idea of what you would like to see.

This of course is all for fun so keep that in mind, if we decide it won't fly we'll just point the np.net to np.com.

Coming soon.... NP Project

The first thing we need is a cool graphic for the NP Project to put in our signatures LOL, this is gonna be fun!

Yea I know I was havin fun, we can talk about it around the newbies and they will be like WTF??

Ok, the sky is the limit on graphics, for that matter even here at nopistons.com, we someone to join the team that is good with photoshop and what not. So if anyone is interested in helping out on the project PM me or reply here.

Yes new forum software will be MUCH, MUCH faster. preliminary tests for the software using php and gzip, uses 1/4 the amount of db queries (lower db queries=speed). From the messing I have done so far it is almost like being in a threaded chatroom, it's that fast. Plus with sending so few queries to the database it will cut down on our bandwidth usage considerably, in turn cutting down on our costs. This is all good news. It will be some time before we switch, once we get the software in hand, I will install it on the NP Project website  then import the current forum database, test it, hack it and develop a skin for it. Then we'll kill the test board, install the new board and inmport the db on this site and boooom!!! Anyhow that is quite a ways off, as the software is not completed and I am deep in the providesite.com development.

Thanks or the suggestions, keep them coming!!!!

Well stable-os.com puked this weekend, the processor went into nuclear melt down, intel blows. Anyhow I will be re-setting up stable-os.com, then I will am going to set up a second system, dedicated nopistons.net, so it will be a few while I get all the parts together and what not to get it going.

Hi guys,

Ill be more than happy to supply some pics of my Rx3 and friends Rx4 and Rx7's from Australia.

You should have a features section. Which could be articles on a particular car, ie photos, and descriptions of the modifications. Much like what is on www.fullBOOST.com.au (Check it out), in a magazine format. Someone would have to have some good skills with graphics to make it look good tho.

Just a bit of an idea.
