I wanted to take a minute to brush breifly on some of the options for donating to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, there are several options and the link I have provided will give you some information on how much of each $$$ gets to the people you intended to get to.

Despite what the TV news and the government tells you about FEMA and there greatness, I can tell you from personal experience FEMA is a joke and certainly not the miracle working government body they would like us to think. We have thousands of refugees on US soil, homeless jobless and in a lot of cases at this point probably hopeless.

Thanks!

There is a fund here in New Zealand that has been set up to take donations for the victims of Katrina also, heard it on the news this morning. We're only a small country but we like to give. Will be making my donation today.

SomethingAwful.com has something going on. But Paypal's trying to screw Lowtax (webmaster) over.

100% of Red Cross Donations do not go to the people. Maybe 100% of the donations at applebees go to the red cross, but not 100% to the people. you can check out the links above to see how much gets to the people

I live in Lower Alabama and have been through Hurrican's Ivan,Dennis,Katrina,Rita and probley some that I have forgotten. I am a perfect example that Fema and Red cross are a joke. We got hurt bad durring Ivan and were unable to afford or get anybody at that to help us repair. Fema gave me a 100 for my wifes car that was totaled. My parents got a little more but not nearly enough. On top of it all we were hassled for months before we were even helped the little we were. Me and my family are now stuck doing all the repairs and remodling by our selves. My father and I are both dissabled due to back and hand injuries. I believe that God has brought us to where we are now but it is still hard each day to wake up to this mess. I thank all of you for your prayers and concerns. I think if we all stick together we can make it through this. I also know that there are worse off a lot worse off than my family and I. So I am thankful I have what I have.
