I need some feedback on where to go with the chatroom, we can integrate a great java/irc chatroom into the forum, would have our same username and everything, but would require $49.99 to register it.



I'm pretty tapped out with advertising and what not so it would be a bit before this happens anyhow, just want a little feedback so I know where we should go from here.



The current AOL chat is ok, but not great, not everyone can use it.

 

First off, does anyone even use the chatroom? Any time I've been in there no one else was.



Maybe if people would buy some keychains (hint, hint), you could have a little income to help improve the site.

 

most of us go into the hacked nopistons aim chat room. it works well so far. but a real chatroom would be nice

 

Yea I would like to add a chatroom that is well integrated into the forum, I can actually do it so it looks just like the rest of the forum.. would be very nice.



I'm sure eventually AOL is gonna get pissy about the one we currently have :smilewinkgrin: I just wanna make sure it is gonna get some use!

Just click the enter chatroom at the top of the page, but you gotta have AIM to use it, that is the BIG disadvantage.

I believe the original java applet is still up it's at https://www.nopistons.com/chat.htm



but it's not linked anywhere at this point and the way that I would do the new chat room would be very cool and well integrated into the forum.

 

Sounds like it would be pretty cool! Maybe you can ask members for donations. Get some funding, since keychains aren't selling. :frown:

 

Naw, we'll figure it out, I'm not too hot on donations. I think the keychains will move once we get a little more advertising.
