MazdaFest Invades The Mitty
Grassroots Motorsports Magazine & Mazda USA join forces to promote the Mitty & MazdaFest at Road Atlanta
(April 25, 2008) – Road Atlanta will again host “The Mitty” presented by Classic Motorsports Magazine and Mazda on May 2-4. The event will also play host to MazdaFest, the east coast’s largest gathering of Mazdas, from legendary RX7’s to Miatas and everything in between.
MazdaFest ’08 will include a display of some of Mazda’s most famous racing machines of past and present. If you ever wanted to see some of the world’s best rotary-powered racers up close, this is your chance. Thanks to Mazda USA, a Mazda Corral will be open to any Mazda owner that comes through the gate.
The event will play host to the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup season opener. Over thirty identical Mazda MX-5’s compete against one another in arguably the weekend’s most popular and nail-biting race. Watch as dozens of cars come charging down the hill and into turn 1.
If that isn’t enough, Kumho Tire has created the KUMHO CHALLENGE, an opportunity for spectators to get behind the wheel of a Mazda MX-5 shod with high-performance Kumho tires and try their hand at a challenging auto-cross course. This is event is open to the first 500 spectators who sign up that are over the age of 21. This is a Saturday only event.
Grassroots Motorsports will again host the ultimate race weekend party for all in attendance, the GRM Speedfest. Infield entertainment and parties will be held throughout the event as well as a special Mazda turbo install tutorial.
Flyin Miata’s Bill Cardell and Keith Tanner will help the GRM staff install one during the event! Be sure to peer over their shoulders periodically throughout the weekend to see how the experts do it!

Tickets are available at the gate and admission to the Mazda Corral is FREE!
