I have a 1975 Mazda REPU. The rotary had been swapped out before my dad purchased it 10 years ago. I got it from him this year and want to make it Re-Rotarized. I yanked out the old block and all of the engine wiring cause it had been chopped up to do the swap. I want to swap in a 13B REW. I have no problem fabricating mounts. The only problem is I don't want to purchase a whole front clip cause they are expensive. but, I can afford get the complete engine and turbos with the ECU and wiring harness.

My question is once I have the complete engine, turbos, ECU, wiring harness, how much other junk needs to be installed to get the engine running. I don't care about the a/c or power steering being hooked up yet I just want to be able to drive the truck. No smog crap either.

I had thought about that but I am not sure if I can afford the Haltech yet.

I have the $ for the engine but I want to make sure I make the best choice before I spend the $.

I have absolutely no wiring in my engine bay so I would have to start from scratch. Would this be eaisier to do with the haltech, than trying to wire in the original ECU stuff?

What about the oil metering system. How do I hook that up with the haltech?

with haltech you can just premix which is better for your engine anyway. the haltech would be a little easier since it is all brand new and you can do it how you want. since everything won't fit a haltech would be better in the long run

What oil do I use for premix?

Would it be much harder to wire in a Haltech to a 20B?

2 cycle oil for premix

a 20B is an entirely different way more complex way more problemed beast. people have cars they are building with 20B's that take 2 years to build and make work correctly. my mechanic judge ito build a RX-TRUCK 89 i think mazda b2200 with 89 TII engine and tranny, stock engine management, FCD, and 10psi. it ran low 12's when he sold it !!!!! you don't need a 20B. a 13BT or 13B-REW will be more than enough power for the truck

I don't mean to sound greedy but I would like a 20B because it has massive torque. What would it take to get it running?

I don't rely on the truck for transportation cause I work close to home, so it wouldn't matter if I have to spend a couple of extra months fine tuning and getting things sorted.

The truck is heavy and I plan on adding lots of crap like a sound system and possibly airbags so I want lots of torque so that I can still humiliate the lil rice burners out there if they wanna play.

you can tune a 13b to a respectable 350 to 450hp and be reliable (as they get) how much more power do you want!! There are not many ricers that would even touch that even pullin a trailer HEHE :bigok:

if you're worried about having enough $ for a haltech.. you should probably reconsider the 20b

also if you haven't yet, check out mazdarepu.com (been down for 2 days though)
