I have a base model 2+2 non-turbo RX-7 (4 lug rims). I have been doing some research on the web, and decided that I am going to drop an LS1 with a T56 6 speed in the car.

Does anyone know what the power limitations of the RX-7's rear end are? If I have to swap it out, will a Turbo-II rear be able to handle the power?

Also, I would like to convert from 4 lug to 5 lug. What parts are needed and is there is a place that stocks the parts needed.

Thanks in advance for any help

T2 rears are 5 lug already so you'll need the front hubs calipers and lines.Otherwise you should be set.The T2 rear is capable of high power levels without breaking.Ask vosko about his FD.He swap the torsen out and put the T2 carrier in for a reason.

The car is in another country, and the rotary is hard to get parts for there. I will be doing all the work myself, and I know piston motors better then I know the rotary. I was checking out www.thewrongmotor.com and it just seemed like the thing to do

Plus now I can get a cool license plate frame that says "Born in Japan, Raised in America"

ABOUT THE TII REAR END.... CAN THE 88 GTU WITH 4:31 GEARS BE ABLE TO TAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF POWER AS THE TII. OR LESS.... I KNOW THAT ITS A LSD... BUT I'M NOT SURE IF IT COULD TAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF POWER.
