Ok guys, Im in vegas and cant find any second gen shells but have found plenty 1st gen shells for really really cheap. My question is, How hard is it to put the engine into the 1st gen body? Does anyone make mounts that would do this so I dont have to fabricate my own? also I have a non turbo ECU and harness (which is what i currently had running the engine in a 2nd gen). Id be going with a megasquirt PnP ecu when I do the install, so I can just hook it up to the stock harness.. what else would I be needing?

Thanks

Hey man, I was going to do that EXACT Swap, its not to difficult as long as you have a good writeup handy, The main thing is Mounts and Fuel and Wiring...You can use a 12a Face to bolt onto the first gen body, or you can get a third get mount and fabricate it onto the body...I have a Motor for sale taht I was going to do the swap in, Comes wiht ECU and Perfect harness. Overall the swap was goign to take me about 4-5 months but I have to move so I had to cancel my project :-(, Ill see if I can find you that write up...

im also doing this swap soon, from what i can find rom some of the local rotary guys. it takes a front cover with the mount for a 12a chassis (gsl-se 13b front cover, or at least i take it that its the easiest way to do this) im not 100% sure but from what ive been told you have to have a driveshaft custom made in some way, not completely sure on that one. gotta have all of the wiring of course, find a t2 harness or god forbid, wire it yourself *gulp*. also have to have a 13b gsl-se oilpan to clear a crossmember. off the top of my head thats all i can figure. of course there are a lot of other smaller issues you have to deal with, but those are the biggest ones. *oh also i was told to use a t2 transmission you would have to do something to make the shifter line up correctly with the boot and console opening (though i think it fits normaly, just offset slightly to the rear or something of that nature) but yea, if any other guys here who have done this swap can give us some more info, and correct me where im worng, PLEASE do so, cause i need info badly myself
