Hey guys,

alright here's my ignition setup:

89 Mazda Turbo2

Wolf 3D V4

FD Ignitor

(1) MSD 6A

(4) MSD Blaster SS Coils

I have nyt's directions on how to wire the FD ignitor and so that part is solved.

But I have a question about the Ignition Ground (Blue/Shield, PIN31) that comes out of the Wolf unit.

basically, where do i ground that too? there's no ground in the FD Ignitor harness, so do I just ground it to the body? or do i ground it directly to the ignitor or what?

Also I'm trying to plan a fusebox setup for the 12v sources i need. However I want to be sure about which ones should get a constant +12V and which should be switched (i figured since most cricuits are ground activated that they'd be constant 12V)

here's my list:

Turbo Timer - +12V Constant

Aux Output 1 (Meth Injection) - +12V Constant to a Relay

Coils - +12V Constant to a Relay (?)

Ignitor - +12V Switched on by ignition

Injectors - +12V Constant (?)

Fuel Pump - +12V Constant to Relay (?)

FAN - +12V Constant To Relay (?)

Boost Controller - +12V Constant (?)

the turbo timer and boost controller are the Wolf ones.

I just want to be able to get everything squared away before i start wiring, please help.

ok i braved the cold to get the notes, needed to start the heat in the garage so i can button up the r&d work on the 2007 speed3 anyways. so here is how the fd ignitor is wired in:

wolf3d harness / ignitor plug

open / H , open

to leading coil / G

yellow / F

to trailing 2 / E

12v / D

Gray / C

to trailing 1 / B

red / A

hope this helps, just start with the open spot on the ignitor plug and work your way down

i got the software for $80, and i have an innovate wideband so i dont need the datalog features, i just needed the graphs and ability to change multiple cells by same amount at same time, tis quicker

but yea i alkready have that wiring for my ignitor, i dont know wher eot put the blue/shield ignition ground wire, theres no place on the ignitor terminal so i dont get it...im guessing i ground it to the body or something. its a blue wire wrapped with loose wire as the shield. cant remember the pin # ATM.

i believe i body ground that,.,.,. its been too long since i wired up the car and i lost most of my notes now to a oil spill that some dumbass had (me) in the shop near my paperwork. i really need to get back to working on my seven if i want to have it on the road by spring and time attackin by sumer

also be sure to mount that wide band o2 sensor way way down stream,,,,,,,,, i ran that wide band myself and over heated it evrytime i did a boost pull . kinda pissed me off and i mounted it down at the end of the dp to where it mounts to the rest of the exhaust. i now have moved it to about 30" away from the turbo and need a new sensor cause mine is burnt up.

scratch that ,,,,,,, pin 31 ( blue shield ) is coil negative, so run that wire to the negative side of all of the coils. man i really need to make better notes but ya that blue wire is coil negative man. look on page 45 of the install manual and it shows how to wire multi coil wasted spark with multi ignitors

yea i wasnt sure because it said multi-ignitors so i wasnt positive.

alright so i'll split off the blue wire into 4 wires and run that to each coil negative, and then the positives come from the ignitor.

think i got it now.
