That's my other question...I'm gonna need a laptop for the Haltech aren't I? What kind of operating system does it use? DOS? that's scary, lol...what are my options as far as tuning the haltech on a laptop...can I use something like a desktop maybe?

Good...I didn't want to go out and buy a $3K laptop, lol...I'll just buy one from my employer...the company has like 40 of 'em laying around, lol. They usually sell them off to those auction things for like $500... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

The injectors are still in there, but I bought another used set that should be on the way. The guy said he just took them out a month ago. Once I have them I will check into sending the old ones to RC.
I'd like to paint my intake and alternator, so this gives me an excuse to do that. Not sure I will... but I would like to. As for the laptop. I use a 486 (color screen) in DOS mode. I leave it in the car all the time. It works pretty welland it plugs into the lighter plug for power. I have a nice 1.2 gig laptop with Windows 2000 on it but the 486 in DOS mode actually loads the haltech data faster. The Screen isn't as nice, but it works well. |
All you need is dos and 4 mb of ram, lol a 286 should do fine with a serial port. I"m fine with the dos program, it works and get the job done.

I just read the HITMAN site on haltechs installation...considering I'm a Cisco certified networker and have good wiring skills...I feel I should be able to accomplish it. I think I'll go w/ the Haltech E6S system....
