Pfc Leaving Injectors Open?
#1
mazda just called me and told me that my fuel is leaking because the aftermarket 'pcm' i'm using is keeping the injectors open all the time. theyre not familiar with the pfc, so i told them that instead of dishing out 1300 for a stock ecu, id like to consult someone about the one im using now (power fc). anyone know what i could change (settings or anything) to allow the injectors to close when theyre supposed to?

i suppose it could be a simple short grounding the injector wires so they're open, and not necessarily the pfc internally doing it (a pfc failure).
don't you splice wires into the harness for the pfc? have you checked those out?
just some ideas.

If the injectors were open all the time it would take;
hmm lemme see
850 x 2 + 550 x 2 = 2800 cc/min
2800 / 1000 = 2.8 L/min
76 / 2.8 = 27.14 minutes to completely drain the tank.
That would be a pretty incredible "leak", and it would be leaking from the exhaust!
Tell 'em to shove it up their donut hole!

i'd been using the pfc with the same settings for months with out any sign of a fuel leak. when the motor wouldnt start and i realized i was leaking fuel i replaced the fpd and tried to start. wouldnt start and was still leaking fuel, it was pooling on top of the motor, now these guys are saying it's leaking into the motor. i dont understand wtf is going on. could the injectors just be leaking by themselves? wouldnt that make more sense? is there any setting on the pfc that might have been changed with out my knowledge (dumbass friends messing with the commander) that might be causing a similar issue? why are they blaming the power fc.. it makes more sense to me that the injectors themselves are leaking.

They're blaming what they don't understand.
They saw a component that is not their responsibility and decided to blame it. It's easier.
Will it run? Take it somewhere where they deal with aftermarket stuff. Don't know what's in your area, but Payn Technologies isn't all that for from you, and they've got an FD on their website with a PowerFC. While you're there see if Devin has his NSX there.
