E6x Odd Timing Setup
#1
the closest my car gets to turning over (and occasionally will run for 3-5 seconds if i modulate the throttle alot) is with the timing BTDC at 29 and the tooth offset at 3. i know the CAS is stabbed properly.. what gives? any suggestions? I cant get it to start and idle! Altho ill have like 2000 miles on it by trying to start it by the time it actually runs heh

if i zero the timing it wont start at all. Now my timing light is deciding to work only part of the time even tho i know its getting spark cuz i pull just the wire it arcs, if i pull the wire AND plug the plug fires, the ONLY time the ****** light goes off normally is when i hold the plug slightly away from metal for a large arc . both rotor housings have extra grounding.
its either help or im going to blow this ******* thing up and record it. 15k into this god damn car and it wont even start because a) engine isnt right b) ecu isnt right or c) im not right. Doesnt matter waht i set it at, how i stab the CAS nothin. If it does manage to start it has NO power and sounds like ****, weedwhackers have more HP than this thing does. if i change the settings to zerod out i cant get it to start for the life of me. Yes i know its a fresh rebuild but jeezus christ, i can lean it out, richen it up, middle of the road.. NOTHING CHANGES ****. Im so furious, GG im done, ban me. cars goin for sale.

what kinda wires do you have on it? put some crappy plug wires on there, sometimes if you have "good" wires the timing light doesnt like it.
also when you zero the timing you're not trying to start it, you're checking to see if when the ecu says 10btdc, its actually firing on 10btdc. the ecu doesnt know when the engine is in its rotation, you have to tell it.
