87 Turbo Wont Stay Running
#1
Hey guys, I posted this on rx7club.com with no help yet. A quick rundown of the car....1987 Turbo. T04E, E6k, custom exhaust manifold and turbo back. 720s, 1680s, aeromotive -10 fuel system, A1000 pump, GReddy 3row FMIC.
I finally got my car running. a 2 year project is almost at the end. Its hard starting, and acts like the timing is off, but i have not moved the CAS from where it was when i bought the car. Once it finally starts, it has tremendous throttle response, very crisp and quick revs. Watching the engine data page, the inj. pulse width is right around 9% (720cc primaries) and p/w is 6.xx ms. Then after about 10 seconds, the duty cycle jumps to 20-26% and the car sputters and dies. Once i clean the plugs off and reinstall them, it will do the same thing. The longest i have gotten it to run is approx. 30 seconds. I don't know what is making it become rich like this. BDC made my base map for me, and said it should be right on for my setup, which i believe, simple due to the fact that the throttle response is awesome. Any ideas? This is kind of disappointing...
I am officially lost. i cleared up a major vacuum leak, but other than that, i have no idea why it just decides to get richer and richer. I cant keep it running long enough to verify timing. Fuel pressure stays constant 40psi and there are no seen electrical glitches...
Any ideas out there?

you need to find out why it richens up. is it because it moves to some wierd part of the map? or maybe the coolant correction? or air temp corrections? this shouldnt be too hard to figure out, its a map thing. you should also zero your timing, once it runs a little better
