I just orderd my silicone from High Temp Silicone, smokin deal so when that stuff arrives ill be going to town. Just not sure when or where i want to do this. 1Bad7 from the evil forum has done this before and said he would help me with it in the spring. He said if you dont have the right tools and have not done it before it takes a day or two. But he does so he siad only about 4 hours.....

So i have to see if i want to have him help or just try and do it in my lil garage.

Well, they say the first year of marriage is the hardest, i'm just making sure I survive it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I'm not giving up op on rx's yet, I just want to make my wife happy (300zx), and I want a project to tackle (the rx). I found a few vert candidates, but I really want an s5, so I am still looking. mmm vert turbo, it would be a great ride I would think! I am heading out to Ottawa to check a few 300's this weekend, but any other time I am up for stopping by, and my garage is still available if you need a hand. Btw, when are you going to tackle the vacuum lines?

Is this by any chance the purple one that was at "Meeting of the Mazdas" last summer?

RSTURBO - stop your search I have the car for you. I have an s5 vert that I did a widebody conversion to as well as a turbo conversion. I am going to sell it minus the motor but with the TII tranny. So all you would have to do is drop in the motor, harness and ECU and you've got a smokin ride. If you want more info pm me your number and I'll give you a call. I have spent over $17,000 on this car it will not disappoint.

It's easy, but take your time. When I did it I removed the emissions stuff at the same time. That cuts out about half of the lines you need to do, and ensures you'll have enough solenoids as you'll likely break a couple.

Just have a chisel and a hammer handy. This is the BEST tool to have.

Those phillip screws are the biggest pain for me. spent $45 buying the right tool only to come looking for my hammer and chisel combo. Replaced those screws with a SHCS

Removing the hardened rubber(aka plastic) from the solenoids requires patience and not brute force. Soak mine in wd 40, twist, sharp knife and pull.

Don't just pull the manifold, there are a bunch of vacuum lines underneath it.

Well, to get back to the original question that Shawn asked...

Excluding the fall maintenance, the only changes on the 7 have been cosmetic. Santa brought me a new black leather with red stitching shifter boot. The original redish-green was starting to look like ***. He also brought a new pedal set. Much better for heel-toe (for me actually ball of foot to side of same foot).

It's been a pretty quiet winter for me. Still driving the 7 to work and back (4km round trip). That is about all the driving she is getting now. The odd time we have had more than 4in of snow at once, I left the 7 in the garage.

I'm looking forward to nice warm spring days so that I can really open her up and tackle some good roads.

Roger
