Talking

Today me and Series1rx7 went to the Perth Auto Expo to see the RX-8 in the flesh and OMG it is f*cking beautiful. I took some pics (before my battery went flat ) of it, including one in 1024x768 for a desktop wallpaper.

We spoke to one of the guys on the stand and he reckons that Mazda will release the new Rx7 and a new miata at the end of next year and also, the new Rx7 will be about the size of the miata. He didn't seem to think that the miata would get a rotary (actually he said the rumour will go round that the miata is getting a renesis engine, but really its the new rx7), and he also didn't seem to know **** about a new rx3.

I'll link the pics I took, to save dialup peoples from waiting forever for their page to load. I was really pissed off that I neglected to charge the battery on my camera, cos I only got 5 shots.

None of the Mazda people were allowed to touch it, so we couldn't sit in it or even have the bonnet (hood) opened. That kinda sucked, but what can you do. 6 speed manual, full leather trim -> AUS$62,600

Nice Pics, but WTF?

That Mazda guy was talking ****!

The Miata is not coming out with a rotary, it has already been narrowed

down to a stroked 4, or new gen 6. The Rx7 won't be out at the end of

next year either... some people

I'm just glad they are bringing out a new rx7.

What have you heard?

everything at the moment is just speculation,

but the engine will most likely be N/A and increased

displacement (15B). According to Mazda's chief engineer

Not at the moment, my 84 is a rolling shell at the mo, cos I'm doing a ground-up rebuild and the 81 is supposed to be its parts car, but I've just been ******* around in the wet with it, its a unlicensed, rusty, half-blown, POS.

Once the 84 has had the t2 swap and is all finished, I'll be joining the local fastfours and rotary car club. I think its called All Fast Fours and Rotarys Car Club. A mate of a mate is a member, he's got a late-model purple supra. I've got a vcd they made a couple of years back from their earlier days, heaps of track stuff, mainly drifting.
