3 motors in one year?Thats not right.I would start looking at the internals to see what failed and remedy the problem.Thats a unreal amount of rebuilds in such a short time.

How about your fuel filter? You got a good clean oem filter in there?

Well one of them wasn't a tuning error. I ran the wastegate line too close to the exhaust manifold...it got hot and I overboosted to 2.6 kilos. The 2nd rebuild was a rich blow. My EGTs were hot as **** and I burned a corner of an atkins seal. This one, I think I went lean.

I replaced my fuel filters a long time ago with the washable type from earls(10 micron). I recently cleaned them out.

Tuning is very basic. All you need is safe A/F ratios and a safe timing map. I have found that on some cars while the laptop was reading for example; -20 for trail and -5 for leading at Idle, the actual real time ignition timing was way of and working on a more advance timing. When this happens, your timing is way off. I always advice to go in and check actual real time ignition timing with a proper timing light.
yeah i like to check that periodically

Christ Van you are hating life.

Your a good sport man.

Hey Ito, keep talking. how does one use a traditional timing light on a rotary?

Or any other car for that matter?

One lesson Dad never gave me.

Well, took the motor apart. Had 4 corner seals stuck inside the rotor housing!

Clearancing issue it seems. Guess I'll start a thread in the rotary engine/porting/building forum

Well look at the bright side, the year is almost over so this has to be the last one for the year.
