Unstable At Acceleration And High Speeds!?
#1
well... I've been noticing more and more that my is all over the place at higher speeds... I'm not 100% sure what it is just yet til i get it on the lift...
Symptoms
Under WOT the car torques left and have to slightly countersteer right... as I let off, the car corrects itself and I have to quickly countersteer left...
Approaching 100mph, the rear of the car starts to shake as i increase speed...
Noticed that the tranny was louder than usual, sounds like grinding in the bell housing... I push the clutch in and it's gone...
Inspection
I jacked up the car and tried to mess with the rear wheels, there is a slight movement holding the right and left of the wheel...
I noticed that the inner section of my rear tire is getting bald...
Solutions????
Replace control arm bushings and diff bushings??
Possible rear hub replacement??
Could the rear shake under high speed from bad diff bushings??
Concerning the tranny noise.. could it be a bad bearing?? pilot and/or throw out??
Anyone have any other suggestions?? I don't want to start replacing things that won't solve my problem... money is getting tight!!!
thanks guys!!!

Wheel Alignment? Wheel Balance? Suspension geometry? air pressure in tires, etc?
Try going on a real smooth flat surface if you can without too much wind, and then go like 100+ if it pulls from the front end left or right, check to see the tire tread height. Also, check the height at all four corners....

Wheel balance... being the tires are wearing out in the inner sections.. could that be throwing the balance off??
Suspension Geometry... I'm running APEXi Tmax shocks and Eibach Pro kits all set to stiff... I 'm goin to play around w/ the stiffness settings, i'm not sure how much of a difference that will make...
I've been testing on flat surfaces... so now i have to get the car in the air and look under...

I'd say everything you listed is a possible cause. I'd start with the easiest...tire pressure and alignment.
Wheel balance shouldn't cause it to handle wierd but will cause vibrations obviously.
I'd jack up the rear and check for play in the wheel bearing/toe link etc... Try to move the wheel side to side and up and down. Any excess play would definately cause you some problems. Try all that and get back to us

if the rear toe is out of wack it will wear the tires unevenly also causing push one way on acceleration and pull the opposite way when coasting. does the car pull at like 45? i also agree it could be a bad pilot bearing. kind of a pain in the ***. how is the clutch pedel free-play still the same? also what was the last thing you changed or did before the symptoms? or has it just been getting progressivly worse.?
