The only benefit is to lose the extra weight and open up teh engine bay. Makes changing plugs a breeze. But honestly removing the powersteering in a street driven car is retarded. I knew someone who did it and I think it made the car shitty. I drove it and the marginal engine bay space gained was nothing compared to the shitty steering. Thats my opinion on removing power steering. If you want to work the **** out of your fore arms then that is a good mod for you.
The benefits gained from removing this are marginal. Sure you get the "feel" of the road, but you also get the fight. I'm a big guy, and it still pisses me off occasionally to back in and out of little places. Anything over 15-20 mph is fine though. I chose this route as I HATED that goddamn line under there, and it was actually cheaper to do the manual conversion than to have the rack fully modded for manual function.
I cant imagine drifting or recovering from a little slide is very fun either.. I did a few donuts and almost snapped the wheel off because I lost grip and the force of the car spun the wheel at warp speen till full turn. NOT fun.
But, There IS less crap in the engine bay. I do like that.. But not sure it's worth it to most people.
