Strange Noise..
#1
Sometimes right when I turn off my car there is this strange noise it makes. I know my turbos need to cool down.. and I usually give them plenty of time. So I don't think that has anything to do with it.. It sounds like it is coming from the driver's door.. or somewhere around it. It makes this clicking type of sound, and it doesn't last but for like a sec. This doesn't happen all the time.. but it really bothers me.. Any ideas on what it could be would be helpful. Thanks alot.

Anyway... it's not just the metal cooling.. it's also the tiny bombs Mazda placed inside some FD's. Designed to take them out and make the rest of our FD's more valuble!
No, it's the metal... I'm just a *****.

I had to take my car to the mazda dealership. They are going to get new door locks for both driver and passenger side doors. The mechanic said it was the security system. Some acuter or some ****. All 3rd gen's came with a security system.. right? Well the keychain I have says black widow on it. The lock and unlock buttons on there are the only buttons that work. The hatch button and some other button doesn't work at all. The mechanic said he bought a '95 rx7 for his son. So maybe he knows what he's talking about.. idk.

whoa, dude. all 3G's have a security system, but none of the US models came with factory keyless entry. In fact, the only door with factory power locks is the passenger. It's designed to unlock with the driver putting the key in the driver's door lock. Also, what about the security system is clicking? Is it the actuator solenoids or the relay(s)? Keep in mind that if you have keyless entry, it was a system added by the previous owner, who had a solenoid installed in the driver's door. I'd also imagine that while the system has capabilities to support a hatch release, that there is no release solenoid installed (cause that could be expensive). additionally, if you had factory installed keyless entry, the keychain would likely say "Mazda" and not "Black Widow."
In summary, I'd like to thank all the little....no, j/k....
But don't let the Mazda dealer charge you a fortune to fix a non-existant problem that isn't even on their system. Go to a local reputable alarm dealer (car stereo shops usually do this) and have them see what they think. Their techs are usually smarter than you would think. And be weary of that Mazda dude. He really should know better. I sure as hell wouldn't trust my FD to a guy who doesn't even know what standard equipment on an RX7 is.
