Startup Smoke
#1
when i first got the car, the car smoked during startup for about 10 mins or so....
then i blew up that engine and replaced it with a reman.... still smoked for 10mins,
came to the conclusion that it could have been the twin turbos leaking oil or the oil metering pump pissing more oil than normal.
then, i eventually blew that motor too... switched to a single turbo and the OMP was eliminated... and it still smokes for about 10 mins at startup. i thought it was the premix, that i put in too much, but i tried different amounts of premix in my gas 1oz:1gal all the way to 0.5oz:1gal. still smoked. switched over the mix to synthetic and nothing changed...
initially i thought the synthetic helped but i guess the weather was just kinda warm.... but no my car is still smokin up on startup.

I'd say half the time mine will start with a poof of blue smoke, then other times it has no smoke. But it only last a few seconds when it does it. 10 minutes seems a little long. Could be the turbos like you think. If you have been replacing motors, then seems like the problem would go away, so maybe it is the turbos.

take the cap off of you oil filler neck next time to start it up and see if it still smokes like hell. If the PCV valve is stuck or something else trying to pressurize the crankcase, it will push oil past the oil control rings where it will be burned. The removed cap will allow it to vent.
