I'm sure most of you guys are familiar with the RX7 project car at Sport Compact Car magazine. http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/projectcars/

What do you guys think of their set-up?

How effective do you think their automatic boost cut that is hooked up to the knock sensor would be?

I know, but I searched and didn't find anything, so I didn't know how many of you guys had seen it. It still got some cool ideas on it though.

Also, I don't know why the first part doesn't work, I emailed the support team cuz i thought it might have been a broken link or something, but I got no response back, so I dunno

When I got serious about buying mine, I back ordered all the project Rx-7 issues just to have. The only one they didn't have was the first one. That could be why they don't have it on their site. I learned a lot from the articles but I decided to go a different way... I usually pick up any mag that features a 7 especially if the write up is geared towards the upgrades.

i didn't see the article but is it hooked up to the stock knock sensor?

if so, i think that its a bad idea. the stock sensor is stupid. my car is tuned and the crazy sensor reads up to 200 sometimes. if that 200 was real, my motor would be spitting apex seals by now and i'd be in the hospital with a heart attack.

So the knock sensor is a bad idea? I was thinking about getting one. No point in getting one if they suck!

stock knock sensor sucks, for a tuned car. They used the J&S knock sensor.

And they wired it up with the Profec B boost controller. Basically they set it up so that whenever the knock sensor reads too much detonation, it automatically trips the Profec to the lower boost setting, ideally this would save your motor. I was wondering if anyone had tried it, and with what success.

it couldn't have worked to well for them. In the very last update to project rx-7 they stated that they blew the motor. Bad apex seal I think, I forgot I'll have to dig up that article. Anyways they're rebuilding now.
