Sounds like it popped if you ask me.

Do you have a downpipe? Stock cat? One of them could be clogged. STOP DRIVING THE CAR in any case until you diagnose the problem...

Blow-by (credit to Fd3BOOST for thinking of it first) sounds like the most probably culprit. This is why the aftermarket created oil catch tanks, specifically to catch the oil that gets sputtered out when needing to bleed off pressurized air (crankcase on piston engines, don't know what the equivalent on rotaries are, will need help from you guys on all the new terminology!). If you are getting excessive oil in the blow-by, you may want to start looking and why that's happening. Typically it happens a lot more if you drive at WOT and let off throttle and do that over and over.

But that still doesnt explain the car not being able to idle.
I think he has two seperat issues.
I dont think that the oil in the intake is his problem.
Most likely that was already there and he just now took notice since he had to get in there and see why the car will not make any power and idle properly..
Again,.....COMPRESSION TEST THE ENGINE.

I will do the compression test and then figure out from there. I think your right, it may be two separate problems. i will check my TB to make sure eveything is connected correctly.
