i just installed a pfc in my car not too long ago and i've been noticing some things lately. first, my a/c (still) does not work just like before the install. i've heard that this is a common problem related to the pfc. my wiring harness and everything else is very new, so it's not that. i thought that maybe one of the wires that you're supposed to cut is to the a/c clutch. so i looked in the shop manual and the a/c clutch is labeled as 1L (i think). now i know that these labels are in logical order but i don't know where to count from. so can anyone describe which wire i should ground to get the a/c to work (after i add some freon)? if this has nothing to do with the problem, then please guide me in the right direction.

also, i just noticed that the cooling fan goes on whenever the a/c button is on and off when the button is off. is this normal? i'm thinking i have a few wiring problems but please tell me i'm wrong.

You don't have problems. Well, not along the lines that you think. Unless you made a big mistake, you didn't cut the A/C wire when you installed the PFC.

It doesn't work on any settings? Mine worked everytime on 1, sometimes on the others. Your cooling fan is supposed to go on and off like that, it assumes there will be extra heat to dispel when the A/C is on.

Some of the guys here went into making the A/C work on all the settings, I didn't bother. Check the other forum in the Power FC section, some of those guys did a lot of research into fixing the problem. I don't think anyone found an ironclad solution though.

Wire 1L is yellow / black. Connector 1 is the one with a pair of large pins on one end, and 2 pairs on the other end. Start the alphabet on the 2 pair end, with A on the clip side and B below it.

so 1L would be the one six over and on the opp. side as the clip? that is one of the wires that was supposed to be cut, according to installation instructions. that wire was brown and yellow though (new harness).
