Im a newbie , im seeking info on the reliablilty of the rotary design. im interested in purchasing my neighbors 93 touring edition rx7. My plans are to drive it daily to school and work. about 200 miles a week.

I beat on my old 12a-powered RX-2 for years and it never gave a bit of trouble, so yes, the rotary design is very reliable. Would I use any 14 year old high-performance sports car for a daily driver? Probably not.

we had a car come in like that, 58k original everything, guy wanted to trade it in. it leaks oil from everywhere, needs brakes, tires, a clutch, and the whole car had been repainted for some reason. the repair estimate was $8795.00, and then the motor is gonna pop..... it needs a radtiator, hoses, rear bushings, etc etc

fd makes a great weekend/fun car

about the only time you can count on it starting EVERY TIME, and running perfect EVERY TIME, is to rebuild it...

if the engine is healthy and proper maintenance is done theres always that slight chance of it going poop. specially when trying to impress friends.
