Reliability Mods..

I'm planning on buying all the reliability mods soon. I was just wondering what brands everyone has and why? Like should I go with hosetechniques or the hose kit from the rx7store.. the best gauges..(link system or no link system..) etc. etc. This is probably a dumbass thread but I was just curious.. any suggestions? Thanks alot.

To answer your question, I use a DEFI D-gauge (non-link) for boost, and I have a linearized stock water temp. gauge. I am extremely impressed with the linearization, and even more satisfied with my DEFI Boost gauge.
As far a link/non-link, use a link system if you want or need playback, or you have limited mounting depth. A standard gauge worked for me, and the DEFI Black face gauges match nearly exactly to the stock gauges. They're quite a bit more expensive than Autometer gauges, but when you get it, you'll see why. The quality is unsurpassed.
For the silicon hose- From what I understand silicone is more prone to become brittle with the high underhood temperatures than rubber. I would be happy with a rubber replace and tie. It's not worth the extra cash to me to buy, as the difference in longetivity can me negligible.
The AST, either Pettit, or the billet one should work well, also JT-Imports has J-Spec versions if you prefer. Anything solid or welded aluminum will work.

I've been out of the loop for a while now, job changes have made it difficult to stay in touch with the rx-7 community. Where / how do you get the converter to make the stock temp gauge a linear gauge? Last i remember, someone was working on how to do it, but hadn't gotten things working properly yet.

Oh yeah, and I did the stock temp gauge linearization. Took a little more than an hour for me (like, a whole afternoon), but was not too diffucult. Just be careful removing the gauge cluster; you don't want to break any of that plastic.
Also, I've heard that M2 is the preferred brand for downpipes since you don't have to replace the studs.

Oh, and it probably only took me an hour because that was the 4th time I had removed the gauge cluster, and I have disassembled my gauges completely in my old S13, so this task was nothing new to me.
If anyone needs help with the details of linearization, just PM me!
HKS, as I understand, offers the easiest DP installation, but it is not shaped like a tube-style M2. I haven't heard any conclusion as to whether the HKS design inhibits flow, though.
