Road Racing, more HP you could put down will be better.. and goes the same with Drag or any other race..

only limiting 350 is non-sense... as other factors plays in racing.. ie, suspension, tires, wheels, etc. If you have a great set up and underpowered or your set up could handle more HP, why not?

most high hp cars are driver limited, its just too fast. or the faster you're going the more critical it is go get everything right, ie the line, braking zones, etc etc.

i could bore you with examples here, but the best one ive got, was from a socal mazda club event a few years ago. i hopped into rick's 91 miata, its lightened 2000lbs, and has sticky tires, but is otherwise stock 110k car.

with the two of us in the car, he went out and passed everyone on the track, rx8, couple fd's, turbo miatas, etc....

I understand that its all about drivers.. But you can't say stock miata with just lighter will do better than high HP car with right suspension.. That was the point I was making not that just having High HP will do good on road race. Its about putting down the power to the ground and use it.. not just having it. But I'm not disagreeing with you... its the driver at the end.
