if i go from a dead stop and hit the gas to wot i get good boost patterns in first and second. but when i shift to third it seems like i can't get the boost to come above 4. whenever i take first or second gear to ~6000 rpm then this happens. any ideas? from a roll if i punch in second gear i'm okay, might take a sec, but boost climbs to 12. same thing if i'm going from a roll in third. mods are intake, dp, cb, pettit ecu and hd boost controller. car has 65k miles on it. usual boost pattern is 12-7-8(i know it's not supposed to be like that, still haven't got the needle valves dialed in right) i tried asking on the other forum but didn't get much help, so here i am.

Wish I could tell you. I still have a perfect boosting car. Haven't yet been graced with the troubleshooting... sorry!

wish i had a perfect running car vosko, are you talking about the turbo pre-control and the wastegate solenoids underneath of the pressure chamber?

it's been happening for a little while now. i don't really race it that often off the line so it's not like it happens all the time.

car has 65k miles on it.

original motor/turbos.

my car has always backfired, just thought it was normal.

and thanks vosko, i'll look into having those replaced.

turbo's stay good for about 100,000 to 120,000. but i have seen some that need some lovin before 100,000 boost patter that scazy are always stock controll problems or pre-cat or cat problems.

easy way(also the cool way) or the hard way(also the expensive wa)

easy

bypass the stock controls and get a aftermarket boost controller. i Love apec-r about ($450) @ rx-7store.net

hard

take it to someone and get and eventually have more problems another 60,000 miles
