Preliminary Bnr Dyno Results
#1
My Dad took my R1 to the dyno yesterday with mixed results. Initially I was disappointed, but as I looked at the big picture I realized there is still a lot of potential there.
Corrected SAE rwhp 376
Corrected SAE rwt 303
This was with a peak boost on the commander of 1.07 kg/cm^2 (~15.2 psi); not sure about inj duty. I'm going to have my dad email me the dyno chart to get all the info. The ambient temps were 94 degrees, intake air temps in the mid 50s, and the damn place didn't even put a fan in front of the car. My good friend Nick has dynoed at this place a few times and always seemed to make lower numbers than expected, so I am definitely going to try another shop. I've surmised that all of the above deflated the numbers a decent amount, corrected numbers or not.
My dad was the one in the driver's seat during the dyno runs (there were only 2, basically identical) and he said that 4th gear seemed to take quite a bit longer to wind out then when he and steve were on the highway and making repeated runs for tuning---he checked the profec b because he honestly thought it was on low boost.
I feel that given better circumstances and 17 psi, the car should make right around 400 to the ground as advertised. It's odd, b/c it made 368 at KDR about a year and a half ago on the stockers, and she feels much, much stronger now---like a different car with over 100 horsepower more, really. Of course, that dyno was also in January in Pennsylvania.
Next step is to get a 3 bar map sensor and have Steve fine tune her some more, along with some minor airflow enhancements like intake hard pipes and double throttle deletion. This will all of course come after I come home from my little vacation .
take it easy guys--
