No I honestly think that step is pointless. Understand that I was shown how to do the poor mans version by a friend a few years ago. I since have a different understanding of it. I don't see why you need to T in the crv to the bov. I think it would work the same without that step.
the crv has to be hooked up right. I have both nips capped right now. If i did hook both lines back up the crv the one going to the y-pipe would be taken since that nipple and the other on the y where bridged. what to do?

You want to hook the CRV up to any manifold vacuum source.

Just take off your "Y" pipe and eliminate the flapper inside and plug the hole. For non-seq the ccv is just in the way.
