Are there any HO gains from replacing the stock IC and intake piping with polished units like the ones greddy sell?

If so about what kind of gains could I expect.

Thanks

Im not sure on how much hp is gained, but you do gain hp.

The greddy intake elbow has less restriction for intake air flow.

Replacing the accordian hoses will gain a little I'm sure... Nothing really to get excited over though unfortunately..

i got em just for looks and to stop myself from blowing up any more of that freaking old *** accordian piping. hp gains well the butt dyno showed zilch maybe 1 or 2 top end when airflow gets hamperred a bit by the stock stuff but there are better mods for the buck if HP's ur goal

replacing the stock IC pipes with the metal ones is probably more of a reliability mod than a HP mod. But it could be a HP mod since it prevents the stock pipes from busting

I never heard anything about the IC pipes. But i did hear if you port and polish the intkae manifold that you will gain about 30 hp. There is a place around me i dont remember the name. But they shoot little plastic beeds through it. And it makes the passeges bigger and polishes em. They can do anything for a price IC pipes manifolds exhaust you name it.

I highly doubt intake polishing will net you 30 hp.

ok...intake MANIFOLD polishing. If it were THAT much...EVERYBODY would do it. It takes about 2 to 4 hrs with a dremel to do it half ***....probably some gain but 30 HP??? That's about as much as adding a full exhaust to a stock car!

No way will you gain 30 hp through polishing and porting even the LOWER intake manifold (nothing you do to the UPPER intake manifold will result in any appreciable hp gains). Slight porting and matching of the lower intake manifold will get you some power, but not 30; Maybe 10-15 in some extreme applications (highly modified engines). Unfortunately, it's a major PITA to get to.
