you have to remove the motormounts and jack the motor up to get the oil pan... essentially pulling the motor off the subframe...

removing the oil metering pump... well u'd need a block off plate for it, it gets rid of some crusty cheap plastic oil lines, responsible for lubing your apex seals... and can get rid of another possible site for an oil leak...

You WILL have to run a premix if you remove the MOP. {ie royal purple synthetic 2cycle oil in your gas tank with every tankful of gas)

Can you pre mix with out taking that off? I'v heard it helps no matter what but i jsut wanted to make sure it woudlent use to much oil and hurt the engine. My oil pan seal is leaking as well. The mech's told me it wasent worth the work to fix it. And just wait and check my oil a good bit. Then when winter comes get it fixed. that is if the engine doesent blow by then

Rx7kid I already pre-mix and have the metering pump in right now. Just add 4oz. of 2stroke to every tank. I am using marvel mystery oil but i have heard mobil1 and others work well too. I have the block off plate from when I bought the kit and was doing all the emmissions removal so thats covered. I heard though that you have to have pfc or other stand alone engine management when removing the pump or else the car wont run right. Anyone know of way I can eliminate it I am using a pettit unlimited? Also Rx7kid when you fix your oil leak DONT use the original mazda gasket. Its paper and cant really conform to the pan all that well and is not really a good fix. Instead buy some Black RTV and run a bead around the pan making sure to loop around the bolt holes. Also let the car sit for 24hrs to allow the RTV to dry.

haltech is the stand alone that DOES NOT use the MOP. the power fc allows it to remain intact. i do not like to premix because my car smoes like a cigar lounge when i do, so i put in some MMO every 5 or 6 tanks.......not every tank....

I use 4 oz of 2 stroke every tank and have little to no problems with smoking on start up...and I still have the OMP intact....no problems here
