I bought a "Salvaged" VR 1994 Rx7 R2 with 27k miles and nose damage. She just got out the body shop and now its time to work on the motor. She started when i first bought her with a quick jump start and ran for maybe 1-3min max since the rad was cracked. I've invested in the following parts bought form Joey @ http://www.tvracing.us/

Recently Bought Items:

Fluidyne Radiator

Mazda stock oem rad hoses

Mazda Thermostat guage

Aftermarket AST

Efini y-Pipe

Turbo Timer w/Harness

NGK plugs

10mm spark plug wires

Fuel filter

oil filter.

Dual Oil Coolers from Crooked Willow

Following part for near future:

Boost Guage

Optima Battery

Apexi FMI and Air intake.

downpipe

Full exhuast taking out all cats

Power FC

Primary injectors

High performance Fuel pump

Volk Rims 18's or 19's.

Anyone have any input on parts I may need and nice links to other speed showps with decent prices for FD's..

Also please leave any input you have on any of the following parts [bad/good]. Also if you can recommend anything I would really Appreciate it.

Thank you

Jay

establish your goals for the car and build towards them...

what ever your looking to do with the car, someone has already done it on this forum

...look at other peoples setups and ask LOTS of questions...

good start on the parts list. what are your goals for the engine powerwise? going to go single or keep the twins? if single how much lag can you put up with? lots of decisions to make... have fun with your FD

and good luck

I'll most likely stay with the twins for awhile. I never drove her yet and I cant wait. Everyday I wake up thinking about me just driving by myself on a nice curvy road. I'm looking to achieve about 350 RWHP. I've been saving up my money for almost 2yrs now just to get started and here I am ready to begin my project ful blast.

Just remember that when you do get her up and runnin, that she will need tons of TLC. You can't just punish the hell out of her and expect to put up with it for long even with all those mods. Just make sure that you mod wisely and take care of all maintenance things first. Ask around, a lot of experience is here and you will find all the answers to your questions. Just don't rush it, have patience, and don't assume anything about the engine. Best of luck to ya, and have fun!!

Primary injestors? What about getting secondary injectors and moving the 850's to the primary location.

good idea on the research

don't be a moron like I was with more money than since

I bought everything I could get my hands and saw. Blew engines and turbo's with bad setups and spent over 30k on an inherited car. Added a wing to my mechanics house...

If I knew then what I know now well you get the picture.

350 rwhp on stock twins sounds like a bit of a strech, but maybe I'm wrong there is a wealth of info here.

This could be argued either way, but I'd have gone Koyo over Fluidyne. They're almost the same price but the Koyo is 60% thicker (50mm v 30mm iirc). That means more effort to get it in, but the extra coolant may be worth it.

Honestly, either is better than stock, so be happy. I'm about to purchase one of those in the near future.

Considered going non-sequential? It eliminates a lot of headache.

I was just going to say go non-seq while you are doing everything. And if you don't do that, then at least re-do all the vacuum hoses. Single wouldnt be a bad idea. You can make 350 with the twins running non-seq no prob. you'll need bigger secondary injectors thou such as 1300's. How many miles are on the engine thou? You said you got the car wrecked. If there is over 60k miles on the engine you may be looking at a re-build soon. Make sure you do all the reliability mods before anything else. I didnt see a clutch in your mods list either, you have to get a upgraded clutch if your goin to push 350 HP. I hope this helps.

ive pretty much got the setup ur looking for but my intercooler is actually a horizontal mount not front and im using stock promarys and 1300cc secs. umm last dyno was without a bunch of the mods but i put down 319 to the wheels and i ran a 12.3@116mph 1/4 yesterday (18x8/18x10rear volk gtc's). dont be afraid do get used parts though, things like intercoolers and exaust systems dont really wear out id just make sure the car wasnt in an accident or anything before buying em
