Just Turned Off As He Exited The Hwy..
#1
Hi Everyone,
Well, a friend of mine called me this morining saying that he was stuck with his FD that he just bought about 2 weeks ago. He said it was driving fine and as he exited the Hwy it just shut down. He tried to start it a couple of times, but nothing. I took a ride over where he was at and checked all the basics. It was cranking slowy, between the freezing weather and trying to start it, the battery was dying. Anyway we ended up pulling it to his house. Any ideas of what the problem is?.. Has this happened to anyone else?... The FD is stock except for a cat back, with 84,000 miles on it.
TIA
Alex

Hmmm.. I wonder.. Check the fuel, make sure the fuel pump is still working. WHen I blew my rear rotor out I could still start it and it would idle like crap. If it's not sputtering or anything, and it suddenly died completely, I'd be quick to check the fuel pump, then the ignitor.

Yeah he has a full tank, and the vac lines are intact. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump. If so, then he's lucky cause I have an extra one. The weather isn't helping at all, if it wasn't snowing I woulod of changed it 6 hrs ago.

The almost same thing happened to a friend of mine, with a different car, but still. His car was running fine all the time, then he just stopped at a store and came out and randomly the car wouldnt start. It would crank but not turn over. Turns out it was the fuel pump.
