I just bought a '93 RX7 with about 127K miles. It had a new "factory rebuilt" engine, turbo, and trans rebuild 45K ago. It seems to run great and I have full service records.

I'd like to know what types of things I should check on the car before I drive it a lot and hard. I know I should ask these things BEFORE I buy it but as I got it for $7500 and it looks and runs great I bought it right away.

Thanks,

John Magnuson

Change all fluids: oil, trans, differental, coolant. Bleeding the brakes can't hurt either. I use Mobil 1 15w50 in the motor, Mobil 1 75w90 gear oil in the trans, and amsoil in the differential. Motul for brake fluid. Check the condition of the spark plugs and wires, replacve the fuel filter.

You still got a good deal, the car looks great and has performance mods to go along with it. These cars are worth more than people realize, wait years from now when there are barely any left.

Joe: Don't think like that you got a great deal. You're car looks good and you seemed to sound like it runs great, plus it is pretty hooked up as it is. You never know what demons are hiding in a car sold for $7500, but hey who knows maybe whoever had that car didnt know what he really had, ya know?

I just hope my $11,000 Rx7 turns out to look and run as good as yours.

Yeah I think it was a great deal for $7500. The car really is in nice shape and after a review of the maintenance records it seems to be in great shape. I think he didn't know what it was worth and I was a convenient way for him to get rid of it fast and easily with no hassle.

Thanks for all the swift replys guys!

One question:

What type of mods to "reliability mods" entail?

Thanks,

John Magnuson
