As many of you already know I've wanted a set of 17in JDM RS wheels for a long time.



Rodney aka Fullytuned7 delivered! He saw my ad and managed to find a set in Tokyo. He sent me detailed pictures of the wheels before I ordered them. Once I gave the ok (ie-sent a wad of cash via paypal) it took about a week for him to acquire the wheels, a couple days to prepare them to be shipped and another week and a half to transport them to Boston.



The wheels arrived yesterday well packaged and in very good condition.



By this point my 16in tires were well past worn so I immediately took the wheels and new tires to the install shop.



I decided to go with Bridgestone RE750s. They outperform all the other comparable tires in performance, tread wear, and weight. I went back and forth on what size tires to use in the front but ultimately decided on 245/40/17s.



The us spec 16s come with:

225/50/16=24.86



The Type-RS comes with:

235/45/17=25.3 (nearly 1/2 in bigger than us spec and larger than the rear tire!)

255/40/17=25.03



I chose the following:

F: 245/40/17=24.7 (.16 smaller than us spec)

R: 255/40/17=25.03

Rodney remember when I said, I REALLY need tires?



Hard to believe these were once full tread depth street tires. Judging from the pic they look like a set of wrecked hoosiers

Wow, the before/after change is pretty dramatic. The car looks like it's coming together nicely.
