I just got my Fd inspected today for the first time. I didn't really realize how dumb the guy was until he called me outside wanting to know how to turn the car off (turbo timer ). He first took it out on the road and I think went downtown cruising cause when he came back with half a tank of gas. ( I just filled it up :rant. Then he started complaining that my car was too low to the ground and couldn't get it on the lift. As he parked the car in tha garage he just swang the door open nearly denting it on some bar When it came to looking at the engine he wanted to know what kind of engine it was. When I told him it was a rotary he got pissed. He thought I was picking on him or testing his knowledge. During the whole thing his assistant was asking me what year the car was. He thought it was a 2000 and couldn't believe the condition. I got alot of compliments and I finally get to drive it legally I just hated waiting an hour and then paying 40 bucks!! Do I have to expect this every year or does the mazda dealership do inspections?

ba inspectors are idiots, glad my state doesnt drive my car around.

Out here we can go to a private shop which normally is easy to pass, but if you go to the actual MVA/DMV they're supposed to put it on a suspension testing machine which straps your car to some arms and bounces it in crazy *** ways.....im not sure about that though because the only time i went to an actual MVA/DMV was to get my lifted truck "Roll Tested" out in Lodi, almost had a heart attack when i saw the **** they did to it.

So now i pay $50 and get a "guaranteed to pass inspection" out in paterson, it's nice....i could pay $75 and get an inspection sticker without getting anything inspected .

No he's in south Jersey. BTW I used to live in the Lodi/Mapleshade area when I was about 1 or 2 years old.

Joe Flo: What the hell are you doing letting those jackasses drive your car? This is Texas. Nobody should be driving your **** around town for any reason. I haven't been to LaPorte, but if it's anything like Abilene then the **** they did is wrong. Did you have to go to a DMV or did you just take it to a local shop to have them do the safety inspection? Yes the Mazda dealer is allowed to do inspections. I wouldn't take it to them though. If you plan on moding your car and removing emmisions stuff then they won't pass you because they actually look at the emmisions stuff. Try and find a good shop that doesn't look too hard and they should be better then the jackasses that just took your car out for a joyride. Next time a shop tells you they need to drive your car to inspect it tell them you have to go with them for insurance purposes.

I'm afraid you'd have to move here. A real good friend of mine who does most the work on my car does inspections. So I just go in after hours and put the sticker on myself. Its nice knowing someone with a shop and being able to go in when you want when no one is around to use the lift and work on your car.
