Silly stupid question but how does a blown motor feel? When you've "popped" it, does it make any audible sound or anything on an FD? I have some major power loss right now though the car starts up fine, starts to accelerate ok but it doesn't give me my back to the future feel I was JUST ******* GETTING YESTERDAY. Sigh, any suggestions or something would be appreciated as to what to check. Thanks.

Do you have a boost gauge?

You would notice a difference between a blown motor and a running one. I did on my old FC.

so did i but now it just feels like it did when i was having vaccum leak issues and no, i don't have a boost gauge yet so im not even going to try to figure out the problem until i can get a hold of one.

But in my fC when my engine blew, you could just...tell there was something wrong. With how the car feels now, i know somethings up but it doesn't feel/sound any different than it did before i fixed a few of my major leaky areas.

I guess it could be the turbos possibly also? If that were the case how would i be able to tell?

So you think you have a blown motor?

Get a compression test.

one of the vacuum lines probably just popped after installation, **** happens. you can try using very thin zip ties at the nipples for the lines.

heh, nipples. it is probably nothing too major, but getting a compression test done just for security is good to have.

A tester can be bought at any autoparts store for under 20.

My FC wouldn't idle with the rear rotor blown, it would just die if you didn't keep on the gas. Made it real tough to stop at stop signs...

But mine was an N/A, turbos may have enough power on one turbo, so I can't say for sure what an FD would feel like.

dont worry about this joker veritas, he just speaks out from experience. Act like he doesn't type his usual worthless posts here.

do what mike said and get the compression tester from sears, remove the schrader valve, use the tester and then return it
