That is waaaaaay hot. It has been 110-115 every day for nearly the last month and the highest I have let it get up to is 105C. If I go over 100C I shut off the A/C and in city driving that will keep the car around 95C. On the highway with no A/C it will go to almost 100C. Currently I have a Koyo, stock IC, and nothing blocking air from going around the rad. Definately if it gets that hot again turn off the a/c and let it cool down some!

Yes fans are running. I just need to duct everything so no air goes around my radiator.
Also you have to take into effect that the ambient temp outside was at least 105F with 100% Humidity. Its going to be hard for ANY car to have cool temps at that temperature outside. I live in a Tropical climate, not up north or out west where most of you do, where you have heat, but no humidity. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png lucky bastages. |
i'm not running my a/c... its just air going around the radiator evidently.
|
well i put some insulation underneath my radiator and it seems to be working... some **** i got at home depot to insulate pipes.. its works pretty well at blocking the air.. my temps didn't rise above 91C so i think i'm on to fixing my problem https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

update: dumped my 50/50 mixture and went with distilled water, 5% glycol, and a bottle of water wetter... its made a huge difference at night time.. now when i get into it, it stays around 87-88C... have to see what happens during the day time.. also plan on buying my friends R1 oil coolers.. that should help as well.

pete I think you have another problem or maybe thats what a fmic does
the highest I've hit on my car is just a little over 200 running it hard at the track...stock radiator and everything. On the street my car runs at 182 and never moves past that point because I run the fans on high always. I start to **** when I see 190...240 is not good. I bet it has something to do with the fmic blocking the radiator |
well i always ran at 86C before i went FMIC and T78... its just getting air to the radiator and keeping it there... plus my oil cooler is banged up.. so having 2 nice ones will definatly help.

Not sure which ECU you run, but you should turn yoru fan setting lower so they come on sooner. I have mine set at 85 low 90 high....I rarely see 92. when I boost it, I can get up to as high as 95...and yes, I do have a FMIC. I have an aftermarket radiator and a vented hood...that's it. You should be definitely seeing lower temps, unless your running a PFC with the stock fan temp settings. I would definitely check your fan relays...I had one go bad and it did the same thing your FD is doing right now. |
yah i run a PFC, i'll have to make sure on the fan setting, but i'm pretty sure they are set to come on at 85C on high.. but like i said, i'm not sure.. my friend programmed it for me.. its his map.
So i'll have to let you guys know.. thanks! |

what are you guys using to monitor temps? PFC? I just wanna learn a little more about the tools, if you have any links it would be appreciated. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif |
