Grinds 5th Gear In 93 Rx-7

Common problem.. with age... most people mis-shift from 2nd to 3rd.. and accidently hit 5th.
You can fix this by rebuilding the transmission, try redline fluid, might make it go away, or you can learn to align the synchros manually.
You can also later put a short shifter, or a torque brace to fix it. You should also have your motor mounts checked out.. sometimes those will be bad and create problems.

another question...a torque brace will fix this problem? or itll help prevent this problem again in the future? confused.....
i guess i shoulda put it in 5th gear during test drive before picking up the RX7..

Call Ray at Malloy Mazda for prices...For both the spindle (which you need to change as well) and the improved OEM 5th gear synchro, it was just under $60!!! Not a bad price at all. His number is: 888-533-3400. He owns an FD and is well known throughout the forums. GL!!!
