Ok... Here's the deal for those of you with the patience to read all my crap.

I fought the surging idle for a few days and FINALLY got it straightened out. I had to bring the idle up to about 1200 RPMS as the damn port in my motor is pretty agressive.. ANYWAY, yesterday I took it to the store.

I went in the store and the car was 82 degrees C. Didn't leave the fans on as the battery is near death and I didn't feel like being stranded.. Came out to 86 degrees C. Normal, of course for the temps to go up after a few minutes of shutdown.. WELL, when I started the car, the goddamn surge was back. It's still driveable, but at idle it wont settle. I took it home and let it cool off, and the surge was gone..

WTF. I read a BAZILLION threads on the other forum about this. None gave me any real info as to what causes this. I have no AC, no PS, the IAC is unplugged... you name it.

What happens at 86 degrees C that makes my car retarded? Any info is great.

Did you look at the map when it was surging? Find the sell and see if you can lean it out a bit or richen and hopefully it will make and effect. You have a PFC?

I did look at it in the map tracer (Yes, PFC), but was afraid to try and modify the cells because I had this question:

Since the surging occurs when car is hot: Will modding the cells during the surging create a poor condition (lean or rich) in the maps when the car is running normally?

Thanks!

Justin

It may have to do with the temp correction settings.

Please.. Elaborate.

It's DEFINATELY temperature related as it runs like a champ till it gets to 86 degrees C.
