Fd As Your Daily Driver?
#11
No no no... I didn't mean use the T2 as the daily.
His options are:
FD
or
FC + daily
I said he should probably get the T2 and use the spare money to buy a daily driver that gets good gas mileage. Obviously the T2 and FD get similar gas mileage, I'm not that stupid. lol

That is exactly what i mean.
to keep the FD as a comfortable daily driver, you just have to limit your mods to reliability mods, and limit your redlines and not race every civic that you see
Thats exactly what my intentions are if I do get the FD. The only mods i would do would be a radiator and the fan trick that i read about. I definatly dont/ will not race because Im on probation. And I have a little experience with rotaries plus Ive been on the forum for almost two years so I now most of the do's and dont's. I wanted to get some feedback on how good a used FD would be as a dd, and so far it sounds like its pretty good based on how i drive.

Wow, that's tough. I have the luxury of keeping my G2 Integra (CAN WE SAY 35MPG! WOOT!) on the road all year despite when I get my FD...
I did NOT have fun with my Mr2-Turbo when I drove it all winter, I doubt you will too with the same NE Winters.
How much do you have to spend? A DD can come cheap (like a Talon or something) for the winter.

My FD sits in the garage all year... gets to see sunlight for matenience, mods, paint, washings, track days, and the monthly 1 day drive.
Gas is too much money. Plus i want to keep miles off of it. Car is really to the point where i can only enjoy it on the track without getting into trouble. I'd say over the 6 months i've owned this FD, its prolly only seen 1 week of road.
I have a DD, 90 Civic DX Hatchback.. 38mpg with a/c full blast. 18$ to fill the tank when dead empty with gas at almost 2$/gal.

If an FD is what you truly want, dont settle for a t2, otherwise you'll end up like me.
I dont really want an fd more, my current 7 is pretty much falling apart so im gonna need a new car soon. The only car I want is another 7. I had a t2 for most of last year and i have been going through boost withdrawl ever since I sold it. Ive been looking for a while for both t2s and FDs and ive havent really seen any t2s that are mostly stock and in good condition, but I have found several FDs.

I have no savings as of now. But now that I have a decent paying full time job I most likely take out a loan for the car. If i did this my goal would be to have the car paid off in at least 2 years. What I think will kill me is insurance I pay close to 2 grand a year gor my 87na with minimum coverage and im afraid of what full coverage will be on either of these cars. My friend who works with me and gets paid the same just bought a new wrx for 25k and is making payments on it and his driving record is worse then mine so I should be able to afford the car if he can afford that. So far I havent gotten an insurance quote or anything else, Im just looking right now and I figured Id ask how FDs are as dds. Im trying to get as much info as I can before I make a decision.
