I actually just left the canister there. Just disconnected the LINES. I ran dual pumps that way and have 2 fuel filter relocated under the hood.

Sorry for the continuing off-topic excursion BUT,

Actually that was my car and I DID watch it burn to the ground from a safe distance. The car caught fire spontaneously from under the hood while driving. It appeared to have started as an electrical fire in the relay block below the stock air box. Plastic, rubber and oil film were the volatile substances that fueled the fire since the gasoline delivery system was intact.



In case you guys need this spelled out I will



1. Put semi-automatic fire suppression equipment (halon or equivalent) in both the cockpit and the engine compartment. Excellent systems with four sprayer heads are available from about $300.00.



2. Avoid fires in the engine compartment.



3. If you have a fire and a suppresion system that has sprayer heads premounted in the engine bay and passenger compartments, pull or push the actuator AND before exiting the car turn the ignition to OFF.



4.---DO NOT be stupid enough to open the hood of a car that has fire engulfing the engine compartment (opening the hood allows addition O2 to be consumed and the possibility of personal injury becomes unacceptable).



5.. Get as far away from the car as possible and watch it burn until the fire department arrives. Risking being burned or worse trying to save a car (even a third gen 7) does not make you a hero.

Change the pressure clamps on the fuel filter lines to screw type clamps and the job becomes much much easier...Haven't solve the fuel in the armpit problem though?!?!?!

Well guess what? The fuel lines are back-ordered so...... I got 5/16 aluminum heavy pressure fuel lines and am probably going to do a filter relocation. Thinking of putting the filter under the plastic shield by the driver side rear tire, where the lines busted originally. We'll see how it goes tomorrow...

Arright, it's done!! I left the filter where it is, and I removed some of the aluminum piping connected to it and replaced it with 5/16 High pressure fuel hose, which I think should make a filter replacement in the future a little easier. It was a bitch to do though, I had to bend the aluminum lines as close to stock setup as possible. It works though, and that's all that matters for now. I think the next time I have some loot to spend, I'm going to buy steel braided fuel lines with AN fittings, from Summit Racing, and relocate the filter.

Are those two inline fuel filters in that pic?? If so, where would you go about getting ones like that, or would two SX inline filters work as well??
