i was on 78 just cruising at 65mph on 5th gear when this hooked up looking 350z (with a bumper with a hole in it... and shiney wheels, not as shiney as mine though) tailgates me and as soon as he was real close switched lanes and tried to pass me....... well, i was trying to save gas cuz i was on "E" so i just let him do his thing.... to make him happy..... but this bastard hit the brakes after passing me and slowed down almost even with my car...... well, i got a lil intimidated, so i downed it 3rd gear, and smoked him through 4th until i was goin like 100mph, then he exited........... so i slowed down and noticed something weird.

well the problem is after i slowed down again, i noticed that my exhaust was loud as in harley davidson loud. and i also hear a loud clickin sound as soon as i step on the gas every time. so finally i stopped, and the idle was still loud but not obnoxiously loud.... i go to work, and few hours later i come out, and my exhaust was back to normal . well i drove back home, and while i was cruising again at 5th it happen again.

is this a good sign for me to finally put in my downpipe and midpipe? or could it possibly be something worse?

thanks in advance to anyone that gives me feedback

Ok first never do that with no gas in the tank again!!!! you just ran a big risk of fuel starvation, AKA running lean, and you would have popped your engine.

as far as the exhaust noise thing...no clue sorry

speaking of exhaust sounds.... this is the sound of my car at idle...... before the exhaust problem, and after the hole in the crossover.... first part is from the rear of the car.... second part after i speak(filipino) is from my hood

enjoy
