Empty Fd Dash Button Thingys
#1
Just wondered if any of you know what was, or is supposed to go in the empty button positions on the FD dash and centre console. Have always wondered and tried to figure out what they could have been used for.
The one next to the handbrake I know is for the stock fogs/driving lights.

Well all the right hand models I have come across dont have any of the ones that I have crossed in red, which are all the ones you've mentioned. Some have the fogs though.
I thought the one on the dash might have been for cruise control. The alarm and exhaust overheat - did these come as standard or options on some of the US models? So your centre one is blank too? I wonder who knows what it is used for?

Not sure, but IIRC, the center one is for headlight washers(?) , which I think were mandated on the Canadian models.

Yes they are headlight washers, Canadian market. They add two pumps to the rear tank of headlight washer fluid just for the headlights. I had them wired and plumbed for an intercooler sprayer back when I had an intercooler.
I gotta think they were used in Europe or somewhere as well, nobody makes anything JUST for the Canadian market.
If you need a bunch of switches, you can get extras and swap them into all 5 locations. The warning lights use basically the same plastic body as the switches.
