I have a '94 rx7. The previous owner installed a downpipe to replace the precat and had trouble - he said it ran rough and backfired, so he took it off and installed a new precat (wish I had his money as well as his car). I've got the downpipe. Is there a simple chip upgrade for the ECU that would make this work? I'm not looking for 450 horsepower here, but I don't want to break anything either.

You really sould not need an ECU for just a downpipe, but if you need to links then go to my site's link page.

You don't need a chip upgrade for only the downpipe. He must have done something wrong, maybe damaged the O2 sensor or forgot to connect something...
