I have no idea on the belt size.
I think most of the hi-flow cats will tolerate the pump being removed without issues, but if you still have your stock cat, it may plug up quicker. Of course if you still have a stock cat on a high mileage car, it probably needs replacing anyway.
As for other problems, no two people seem to have exactly the same experience. From what I've read they seem to run somewhere between having absolutely no problems to a rough idle and hesitation on hard acceleration.
Other issues would include making sure you have adequate belt contact on the waterpump pulley with the AP removed. And without an AP, passing emissions would be pretty hard for you or any future owner.

I understand but my car is registered in iowa and we dont have emissions here so im not too worried about that. I was just worried that my car would decide not to run at all or run horriable..
Im still looking for someone to help me rebuild my motor.. I found a local guy to me whos willing to help but hes like me no experiance with rebuilding them but would love to know how! if someone wants to drive up here ill pay for gas and pay for a nice steak dinner with beer!! :-)

I'm doing a similar project. I believe you have to get a greddy pulley system that makes the water pump pulley bigger to slow it down but at the same time put a little more surface from belt to pulley.
Hopefully someone can shed some light into this also.

i had no idle issues at all when i removed the airpump off of either of my FDs... luck? <shrug> who knows?
You do need to get a Greddy or similar underdrive pulley for the W/P so that the belt has enough tension on it or you will have slippage problems.

you need to install a bypass loop when you remove the P/S. I don't remember the sizes, but do a search on here and you should be able to find something on it. Capping it off is not the proper way to eliminate it........

you removing the A/C too? If you are, you should only need the greddy pully kit(or similar) to get rid of the AP. As for the power steering caps.. i used them on mine, just used one of the lines to connect the output in the middle of the rack to the output on the oposite side of the steering colum.. (I have a RHD car)
