Hey guys any help is appreciated:

I just purchased a 94 FD and i am hearing a couple wierd noises in the rear. One i am pretty sure is a passenger side wheel bearing. Anyone know how involved it is to change. (I have not done bearings before but i hear you need a press)

The second sound is unique in that it is really only audible at stop and go speeds. It is just kind of a clunk when i am on the gass and then does the same thing when i let off the gas. It is fairly quiet but it drives me crazy; any ideas? thought it might be a broken dif mount but i am new to these cars and interested to hear if anyone has hade or encountered this problem.

Clunk could be play in the diff, worn pillow ball joints (is there clunk over bumps?), or loose exhaust cos a hanger has died at the back, and sorry don't know about the wheel bearing never done one on an FD.

could be.. but most of the PPF cracks that I have had, have caused the "thump" to come more from the middle of the car... and it would happen everytime I let off the gas. Definatly worth checking out.

you can also look if your shifter if your shifter is moving around when you go on and off the gas pedal

most cars I've been in have movement on the shifter when you are on/off the gas. How much movement are you talking about? My FD does that, so did both my old S13 240SX's, my sisters '96 Civic, etc.
